Actor George Clooney was honored by the Netherlands citizens and it's royal family for his philantropic work around the globe. He was presented with a check in the amount of $543,000 at the Good Money Gala, an event which donates half of the countries annual lottery to charities and Clooney's Not On Our Watch organization is the beneficiary.

In total, 100 charities received $355 million in a one night and during a live interview at the Carré Theatre the 54-year-old says, "I have never seen anything like the Postcode Lottery. It lets you join together and also do well," and added. "The fact that I am involved is an honor," People reported.

Princess Mabel told television program RTL Boulevard "He is someone really trying to make a difference." The Hail, Caesar star and colleagues Don Cheatle, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and John Predergast founded the non-for-profit organization to advocate global human rights. Part of their mission states, "We target mass media and global policy-makers. We encourage governing bodies to take meaningful, immediate action to protect the vulnerable and create consequences for the perpetrators of war crimes and their accomplices."

While in Amsterdam, Clooney took advantage of the opportunity to be interviewed by RTL Late Night, which generated almost 1 million viewers. He addressed not only his career, but also what RTL Times decribes as, "the commotion surrounding the lack of black actors nominated for Oscars."

RTL Late Night host asked the Hollywood star to make a promise to return to the Netherlands. Not only did the heart-throb promise to return but was complimented by the host for his journalistic skills, mentioning he's the son of a news man. Perhaps the rumors of him being a gentleman is true since it must be hard to impress someone of his stature. Afterall, he has probably been interviewed over a thousand times.

Nonetheless, kudos for all of your hard world bring global crimes to the masses. The son of a journalist is doing a great job!
