'Teen Mom' Maci Bookout Engagement: Was Taylor Pushed To Propose by MTV?

Teen Mom star Maci Bookout has had her life play out in front of cameras ever since she starred in 16 & Pregnant as a teenager. Now, with the news that the MTV star is engaged, her fiancé Taylor McKinney explains how the proposal came about and whose approval he got before taking the big plunge.

After much prodding by Maci that was captured in front of TV cameras, Taylor finally made it official, but swears he wasn't pressured to do it by anyone else including MTV.

"The show was filmed months ago; the timing was right now," he wrote in a Facebook Q&A, via The Ashley Reality Roundup. "I told myself I didn't care what anybody else had to say, I was gonna do it when I felt the time was right. And when it hit me I just went with it."

One important blessing he had to get before popping the question was from Maci's son Bentley from her previous relationship with Ryan Edwards. While his bond with Bentley was shaky at first, the adorable reality child finally warmed up to him.

"He didn't want to share his momma at first, lol who could blame him?" Taylor explained. "We are very close. He loves sports and so we share a huge common bond with that. I try my best to make sure he knows we love him just as much as we love [our daughter] Jayde."

As MStars News reported, Taylor asked Maci to marry him on a break from filming the Teen Mom OG reunion and it came as a total shock to her.

"We were on Venice Beach!" the Tennessee mom told MTV News. "He (and MTV) had told me that I was going to do an interview for MTV.com, which turned out to be a complete trick just to get me to the beach for him to ask me."
