It's been eight years since Lorelai and her daughter, Rory, stopped talking at a ridiculously fast pace on television on Gilmore Girls, but that's going to change in no time. Barely months after adding the show to their streaming options, Netflix has confirmed they're making a revival of the beloved show set in Stars Hollow ... and stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are coming back!

According to Deadline, original stars Graham and Bledel have finally closed the deal on the revival, along with a few other actors from the series that ran between 2000 and 2007. So far, there are four more stars confirmed for the revival: Scott Patterson will be back as Lorelai's love interest Luke Danes, Kelly Bishop will play Gilmore matriarch Emily once more and Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena will be back as Kirk and Lane, respectively.

It's unclear whether Melissa McCarthy will be back as Sookie, Lorelai's best friend. Though her show Mike & Molly was recently canceled, the actress is one of the busiest in Hollywood with numerous projects, including the Ghostbusters all-female reboot. Sookie was one of the best characters from Gilmore Girls, though, so the revival would feel tragically different without McCarthy.

Vanity Fair reports that the revival won't be in the form of a series but rather a set of movies. There will be four 90-minute films, one for each season of a year, and it's being treated as a proper farewell for the cult show. The show's actual ending, season 7, is infamous to fans: Amy Sherman-Palladino, the woman behind Gilmore Girls, left the show ahead of its last season and the whole thing ended up becoming a hot mess afterwards.

Understandably, fans are more than eager to get back to the fast-paced talking of Stars Hollow.

Sherman-Palladino is completely on board this new project, though: she and husband Daniel Palladino will not only write the four films but also direct them, for full adorableness.
