It's been one year since Whitney Houston's only daughter with Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina, was found unresponsive in a bathtub of her Georgia home, in a manner eerily similar to the way her mother was found three years earlier. Still, after all this time we don't know much.  The case of Brown's coma and death remains mostly secretive and filled with drama, including accusations against her then-partner Nick Gordon from her family.

People Magazine has spoken to a few of Brown's closest friends, including neighbor and friend Debbie Brooks as well as her aunt, Pat Houston, on the anniversary of her coma. Still in shock, Brooks told the outlet that still, a year on, every time she walks by what used to be Brown's home, she expects her to "come running out."

Houston, her aunt, sees things a different way. Back in November, she discussed how Brown was going to seek help for her addictions shortly before the incident.

"She was adamant with everyone else that she didn't want to go, but she didn't tell me that," Houston said, speaking about Brown going to rehab. "She just texted me: 'I'm coming Auntie Pat, to talk, I love you.'"

In Touch Weekly reports that Gordon, Brown's partner recently posted on his Twitter account a snap of the heiress, calling her "baby girl."

As far as where her case is right now, E! Online reports that authorities haven't released many details about the ongoing investigation in the past few months. Back in June, the police handed over the case to the Fulton County District Attorney's office, where it remains "open and under investigation," but it's unclear where the investigation is heading or what kind of evidence or what witnesses the DA's office is working with.

For now, Gordon is facing a lawsuit over the claimed wrongful death; filed by Brown's guardian, though there have been neither arrests nor charges. Gordon denies all accusations and his lawyers claim he is "continuing to grieve privately" while also calling the allegations "fictitious."

While this kind of case has no statute of limitations, as time goes by, it might be more difficult to prove anything, and the story of what happened to Brown remains in the dark.
