Gwendoline Christie's character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens was hyped as one of the film's major villains, so fans were pretty disappointed when watching the movie and finding out the Game of Thrones alumnus barely got any screen time at all. Still, there's time to make things right. New reports say that Captain Phasma will be back for 2017's Episode 8!

Christie, along with the rest of the Game of Thrones cast, was nominated to last weekend's SAG Awards in the Ensemble in a Drama Series category, so she was at the award show. While the HBO show didn't take home the prize, the star did catch up with People Magazine on the red carpet and revealed one bit of new Star Wars info.

"I will be in the next Star Wars movie. I think that's an exclusive, actually," the actress said casually. "I was delighted when J.J. Abrams wanted to have me in the film and then wanted to cast me in this role that had originally been designed for a man."

According to The Verge, the actress also dished about how much she loved her Phasma costume, particularly how much she loved being a female stormtrooper even though her suit hadn't been created to show she was a woman.

Christie has been playing tough ladies on screen ever since she became a star. Her Game of Thrones role of Brienne of Tarth is a loyal knight fighting for a place in a man's world.

In any case, from the last time Captain Phasma was seen on Force Awakens, it was unclear whether the character had survived. After being captured by Finn and the rest of the gang, Phasma was thrown into a trash compactor (at the suggestion of Han Solo, who's more than willing to have someone else face that moment). Then Starkiller Base exploded and her character never appeared again, so she could have been crushed and then blown up, but it's obviously not the case if she is returning.

Hopefully, Phasma will have a bigger role in the sequel!
