The topic of same-sex marriage is still a bit controversial in society. Although we have come a long way and have even made it legal for same-sex couples to marry in all 50 states, around the world, the topic is still taboo. However, after publicly making comments about same-sex marriage, Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has decided to create a new capsule collection dedicated to gay rights. Last year, the hashtag #boycottDolceAndGabbana appeared all over social media as the brand made inappropriate comments about same-sex couples and families choosing IVF. Although both designers Domenico Dolce and Steffano Gabbana are gay, the designers told an Italian publication that they "oppose gay adoptions." The duo also stated "the only family is the traditional one." They used the derogatory term " womb rental" for surrogacy, which didn't sit well with plenty of people. Once the comments came to light, many people around the world shunned the luxury brand. But now, the talented duo is singing a new tune. Fashionistas rejoice! The Italian luxury brand has released their new collection that celebrates gay culture by illustrating same-sex families in a cartoon fashion. The line includes a top-handle tote along with grey, white and black t-shirts all illustrating same-sex families.

Surrogacy is currently banned in Italy, but there is a bill before Parliament that would offer limited rights to same-sex and unmarried heterosexual couples. With gay rights being a hot topic right now in Italy, this collection couldn't have come at a more perfect time.

The new same-sex capsule collection is set to hit the Fall 2016 runway for the brand next month in Milan.

If you're excited about this new collection, you can shop now at the brand's website where the t-shirts start at $745.
