When it comes to making game changing decisions, Grammy award winning producer and art connoisseur Kasseem "Swizz Beatz" Dean has made great strides in the arts and entertainment arena. The 38-year-old has teamed with Canon USA to present #TheUnknowns Collection, which consists of bodies of works by a group of five artists who are all passionate about becoming known artists. And what better place than to have an viewing at Sotheby's!

Not only does Dean have the ability to host a private event at Sotheby's, but he also sits on the board of trustees at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and has been collecting art for the past ten years (though for the wrong reasons), according to Art News. He partnered with Kidrobot in 2003 for the art toy and kids clothing line and in 2010 revealed a sneaker line with Reebok on Twitter. Dare to say, Kasseem Dean is a seasoned artist since creating music, fashion and fine art makes you an artist.

As a certified hitmaker who has created classics for the sake of hip hop for Beyonce, Jay Z and DMX, Swizz decided to do something other than a charity. While he can't save everyone, he is focusing on helping a few whom are interested in going to the next level.

This past Tuesday, MStars News sat down with Swizz and discovered why Canon USA recognizes the rebel in this professional artist and entitled the campaign, "Rebel With A Cause" -- fitting of a diamond selling recording artist who may have seemed to rebel against music by taking a chance on fine arts. Well known camera brand, Canon, was on-site to loan media outlets a camera for documentation.

Swizz said, "Let's speak to the people that's on the ground, let's speak to the creative people that's on the ground." He added, "And I must say that this may not be my best curated show, but it's still close to my heart because I know these artist's struggles and just reading their struggles and just hearing the things that they've been through to take them from their couches to put them on the surfaces of museums in New York... to bring them to one of the biggest auction houses, if not the biggest auction house to have their work auctioned, I think is epic."

While participating in auctions at Sotheby's may not be a new adventure for the owner of The Dean Collection, for the five unknowns, this opportunity may be more than welcoming. Just a day before, Canon USA and Swizz had another major set-up for the talented group, as their artwork was projected upon the Brooklyn Museum of Art.

Knowing the importance of providing exposure to unknown talent, Dean sums up art by saying, "This can easily be looked at as a sport for rich people only." The multi-talented producer told ABCRadio, "We are all born in this world unknown, and we all strive to be known in some shape, form or fashion and I think it takes other leaders to put other leaders in place, you know." He adds, "I might be a leader right now, but I might introduce the world to 100 leaders in different spaces, and I think that's the importance of using your power."

Some of the Ruff Ryders alumni's The Dean Collection artwork consists of artists like Brooklyn's native Dustin Yellin, Andy Warhol, Spain's Joan Miro, Marc Chagall and others. He's hoping to add on to his collection with living artists.
