It appears that between a world tour, recording music and visiting cancer patients, Taylor Swift has time to record TV episodes. The "Red" singer is set to star in the season finale of FOX's "New Girl."

The show follows Zooey Deschanel as Jess (the "new girl") as she attempts to live with three men who are long-term roommates.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Swift will play a new girl of her own, a character named Elaine. She is said to be an "important guest" at the season-ending wedding of CeCe and Shvrang (Schmidt, one of the male roommates, is madly in love with CeCe. Don't expect this wedding to go smoothly. SHOCKER: TSwift may be involved in some drama.)

EW pointed out that the show has associated Swift with numerous heartbreaks. When Schmidt broke up with CeCe, he said he was experiencing a "Taylor Swift-like range of emotions" and Jess wanted to use Swift's catalog as a cure for a breakup.

"I just wanted to listen to Taylor Swift alone," she said after breaking up with the character Dr. Sam.

This isn't Swift's first acting turn. She starred in Gary Marshall's ensemble film "Valentine's Day" as an ex-girlfriend to Taylor Lautner. On the small screen she's hosted "Saturday Night Live" and appeared on "CSI."

Swift will film the appearance next week during a break from her Red Tour, which kicked off this month in the Midwest.

The Los Angeles Times speculates that Swift may help Schmidt get over his breakup with CeCe by penning a song about it, as is her way. (Anything beats capturing Lionfish/ being  face-stung by a jellyfish, right?)

What do you think? What will Taylor Swift's role be on Fox's "New Girl"? Will she help Schmidt get over CeCe?
