The Big Bang Theory is celebrating its 200th episode during season 9, and they're bringing in the big guns to celebrate, including Batman himself: Adam West, who played Bruce Wayne in the 1960's live-action series and now co-stars as the Mayor of Quaahog in Family Guy, will be joining the scientists in this big celebration!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, West is the juiciest guest for the celebration episode, which will also bring some favorite secondary characters back, including Christine Baranski as Leonard's mother Beverly, John Ross Bowie as Barry Kripke, Sara Gilbert as Leslie and Wil Wheaton as himself.

This will mark West's first-ever appearance in the popular sitcom, and considering the show's main characters are comic book purists, it should be interesting to see how they treat the man who starred in the campiest version of the Caped Crusader. There's a pretty good chance we could expect some backhanded compliments coming West's way from Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), which is always fun to see.

Polygon reports that, while there's no report on how exactly West's appearance on the show will pan out, so far it appears as though he'll only be popping in to see everyone's favorite Caltech scientists this one time. So far, what we know is that the actor will be playing himself.

It's a big year for West: this year marks the 50th anniversary of the premiere of the 60's Batman show, and there's even an adorable Lego set to celebrate the occasion.

The Big Bang Theory has hosted a variety of big-time science fiction guests in its nine seasons, including Star Trek alums George Takei and Leonard Nimoy as well as Firefly stars Summer Glau and Nathan Fillion. Some of the most famous scientists in the world have also appeared on the show, like Cosmos: A Spacetime Oddysey host and Pluto demoter Neil DeGrasse Tyson and even Stephen Hawking.
