Apparently, Rihanna first caught the attention of renowned record producer LA Reid with a little help from Beyonce.

The former "X-Factor" judge reveals in his new tell-all book - Sing To Me: My Story of Making Music, Finding Magic, and Searching for Who's Next - that the Destiny's Child songstress was very impressed with RiRi's vocal skills even before she became a worldwide pop sensation.

Several years ago (2005), the infamous BadGal performed at an industry showcase attended by a slew of big-name musicians (including Jay-Z and Queen Bey). Reids' ears really perked-up when the "Flawless" superstar whispered, "That Rihanna girl... She's a beast!"

And later, when Rih formally auditioned in Reids' office, she actually covered a Beyonce song! That really sealed the deal:

I saw her determination," Reid explains. "Her commitment."

And the rest is history. The "BBHMM" singer began working with Jay, and is now a top recording artist signed under Roc Nation.

Now rumors suggest that the 27-year-old Barbadian beauty even indulged in a kinky fling with her hip-hop boss. Wonder if his "Drunk In Love" wife has any regrets making the initial introduction?

Meanwhile, Chris Brown's ex-girlfriend just officially announced that she'll be performing at the Grammys later this month:

@rihanna: "See y'all at the #GRAMMYs February 15 on @CBS at 8e/5p!!"

Several Twitter fans are pumped:

@iDreamRihanna: "Rihanna will be performing at the Grammy Awards. Witness greatness."

@Btinawill: "I'm hoping @Rihanna brings @Drake out to perform #WORK at the Grammys #Grammys2016."

@RihannaMelody: "10 days til @rihanna performs at The Grammy Awards!

@LaurenLewinsky: "I'm so mad that I have class during the Grammys. I hope they save Rihanna's performance for the end so I can see it live."

@iDreamRihanna: "I wonder if they'll let Rihanna open the Grammys with an 'ANTI' medley. Remember her 'Loud' medley at the AMAs and the BRITs? Everything."

Reids' autobiography is now available through Amazon.
