Just 6 months after the Apple iPhone 5 release, there is now talk in town that the iPhone 5S release date may be fast approaching. Rumors have it that it may be released in in August or September of 2013, according to iMore rumors and Digitimes.

"Apple's supply chain will start shipping the components for the iPhone 5S at the end of May, so the next generation smartphone will likely have a chance of showing up in the third quarter," reported Digitimes.

There are several sources that think that the production for the phone has already begun and that the new iPhone may be released as early as June 2013.

As with the previous models, the 'S' model is expected to appear similar to the core model with improved software and features.

Technorati reported that the price could start at $199 for the basic 16GB model and go up by a $100 increment for the 32GB, and another $100 extra for the 64GB.

The iPhone 5S definitely needs something special to set itself apart from a growing market of excellent smartphones.

The competition is getting tough as many great smartphones are available at competitive prices. Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One, and more are being released this year.

One selling point CP Tech reported that may help the smartphone to stand out is an advanced wireless charging system. The publication reported that, "Apple filed a patent application last month for a Wireless Power Utilization, which is actually a wireless charging system that uses near-field magnetic resonance (NFMR)."
