Up against Coen brothers, Nicholas Sparks and zombies as competition, Kung Fu Panda 3 is immovable from its top box office spot for the second weekend in a row. Seems like the Dragon Warrior is indeed unbeatable.

Kung Fu Panda 3 added $21 million this week to a total of $69 million since its release. But even so, compared to its predecessors, the recent panda movie is somewhat lagging behind.  At the same point, the two previous movies already reached or passed $100 million in their release. Even so, Panda 3 still turns a profit for Dreamworks since its merchandising machine is so successful.

On the other hand, Coen brothers' Hail, Caesar! received a tepid reception. With $11 million in its wide release, this is actually the lowest for the brothers even with the appearance of big names on the movie like George Clooney and Channing Tatum. The Choice is also a box office letdown. It ranked fifth place with only $6 million which made it the first Sparks adaptation under $10 million on its debut.

While everybody seemed kind of excited for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies at first, it did not actually reflect at the box office. The film failed to somehow reel in the Walking Dead fans. As for Jane Austen's fans, zombies in her greatest literary piece is not actually that alluring or it is quite too much, I presume. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is in for a weak start at the sixth place with only $5 million.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens was slowing down for a few weeks now. But it still passed the $900 million mark domestically. The $2 billion mark this weekend is also achieved. This made The Force Awakens one of the three movies to reach or pass $2 billion world-wide. Though it felt short with Avatar's $2.7 billion record and Titanic's $2.18 billion.
