It seems like someone, or rather something has risen from the "dead." Despite being announced as a closed book in 2010 with Saw 3D as its final chapter, the Saw franchise just couldn't stay dead for long. Lucky for gore film fans, I have good news. It's definitely back and the newest in the saga will be titled Saw: Legacy.

According to The Tracking Board, Saw: Legacy is pushing through. They even have writers and executive producers for the project already. Co-writers Josh Stolberg and Steve Goldfinger will write the script while Director James Wan and screenwriter Leigh Whannell will both executive produce. This will not be the first time Stolberg and Goldfinger have written for this genre. Both worked on Piranha 3D, which was received well. Wan and Whannell, on the other hand, have experiences with the previous Saw movies meaning that the team working on this movie will be a combination of newbies and tenured vets of the Saw franchise.

It will be interesting to see if the writers will be able to continue the story line the Saw movies have established through the seven sequels or if they will just create a new plot and characters. Looking at the title, maybe they'll just continue the plot or fast forward it a little bit. Who knows, right? At this point, all we can do is just guess, suspect and hope.

It'll be exciting too as we don't know what kind of horror Saw: Legacy will serve up. I hope it will bring something fresh while retaining the key points of how Saw movies should be.

Who's ready for more blood, body ripping and torture? Jigsaw is surely happy with this news.

How about you?
