According to a recent interview conducted by MTV, a sword owned by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran almost impaled Taylor Swift on a flight to Nashville. Ed is the current opener for Swift's "Red" Tour and decided to bring along his prized piece of memorabilia. The sword was actually a personal gift from Peter Jackson, director of the Lord of the Rings movie franchise.

"It's like a real sword. I got it shipped over, shipped over to Omaha, so I was bringing it back to Nashville and I think [Taylor] and her crew were weirded out by it anyway. They were just like, 'Why does Ed have a sword?' As the plane started to take off, it was on the table and it went like this," continued Sheeran, pantomiming the movement with his hands. "The plane is kind of taking off and [the sword] started sliding down and I was like, 'No!' It was just about to impale Taylor."

This news of a possible impaling comes just a few days after a "Red" tour mishap during Swift and Sheeran's duet performance of "Everything Has Changed" in Newark, New Jersey. Mstarz recently covered this story. CLICK HERE for the video of the mishap and here is an excerpt as well:

Sheeran seems to be way off with his vocals, but to Swift's credit she keeps performing. At one moment, Swift leans in to talk to Sheeran and say something in his ear. As the song continues, Sheeran still seems out of whack, and in the video, you can see Swift say something else to Sheeran. So what was the problem?

Well, mid-song, Swift tells the crowd, "Live shows, ladies and gentlemen! Give it up for Ed Sheeran playing even though his ears went out!" Swift handled the problem like a pro, in what could have been a disastrous situation. With there being video of the situation, if Swift handled the mess up in an immature way, it would have been much worse. Instead, Swift kept plugging along, even explaining the situation to the live audience in the middle of the performance.

Clearly the mess up didn't distract the live audience as they were cheering and singing along anyways. However, kudos to Swift for being a professional and avoiding a blooper moment on stage.
