'Mr. India' Sequel Update: Anil Kapoor's Son, Harshvardhan Kapoor, Cast To Play Lead?

Mr. India was one of the classic movies of its time, which released almost 25 years ago. It is still considered among the cult movies that Bollywood learns and adapt from. It is rumoured that a sequel to the legendary movie Mr. India might happen soon, with the cast now starring Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan Kapoor.

Mr. India originally had Anil playing the lead in one of its kind sic-fi Bollywood film, which is a huge benchmark to achieve. It is speculated that Harshvardhan will be the apt choice to follow the footprints of his father.

According to DNA India, there were also reports that Harshvardhan would be replacing Sidharth Malhotra in Bhavesh Joshi's next superhero flick produced by Phantom Productions. He is being considered for many big roles before even making his debut in Bollywood. However, if things go as planned, the most awaited movie will be Mr. India sequel, where the lead actor will be seen filling his father's shoes. The movie will be his first with his home production, under the banner of his uncle Boney Kapoor.

Mr. India co-stars Sridevi and Anil are also rumoured to be coming together once again for the sequel. According to PinkVilla, Boney's son and Sridevi's stepson, Arjun Kapoor will be seen in a cameo in the film. Arjun's last film Tevar did not go quite as planned and he will next be seen with Kareena Kapoor Khan in R. Balki's Ki and Ka.

Meanwhile, Harshvardhan is all set to make his debut in Bollywood industry with a movie directed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra titled Mirzya. It is a story based on the folk tale popularly known as the legends of Mirza-Sahiban. Mirzya is said to be a love story of ancient times. It will have some exciting action sequences as well will give Harshvardhan an ample opportunity to showcase his talent.

According to Times of India, Mr. India sequel is bid to be better than its prequel, given technological advances. Harshvardhan has created high hopes in the audience and an official announcement on the lead cast of the film is awaited. reported.
