Ranveer Singh is being touted as a new essence of Bollywood with several awards in his bag for his recently released historical romance drama Bajirao Mastani. Singh recently opened up in an interview about his childhood mischievousness and his friendship with Ki & Ka star Arjun Kapoor.

Singh confessed that he was not as disciplined in his school days as he is today and used to be more on the mischievous side. He says that he was a bully in school. The actor, who is known as a livewire off-screen, recently visited his alma mater Learner's Academy and reminisced about his years in the same school. He was quoted by Business Standard as:

"I used to be a bully, I used to be fat, very mischievous. School used to be my life," Singh said.

Ranveer, who made his Bollywood debut with Band Baaja Baraat also added that school was his life and he used to hang out with the popular boys during his school days. It was also reported that Singh, who is hailed as one of the fittest stars in the current crop, had been a fat child and used to bully around in school. He used to take part in plays and dramas and said it was from his school that he gained the experience of being a good performer later in life too.

"I used to perform in plays and dances, and this is where I got the experience that perhaps I could be a performer," Singh further added.

While recalling his school days and his friends, Singh, also said that Kapoor, with whom he shared screen in Gunday is his best friend. In an earlier report from DNA India, the duo recently hanged out together and brought the house down with their bromance.

Gunday co-stars even recorded a special video together to put up on a public platform. Singh said what makes his and Kapoor's bromance work is that they are each other's well-wishers and do not harbor a sense of competition against one another.

Kapoor and Singh's friendship goes beyond the 70 mm screen and is genuine and cordial, unlike many other friendships that do not last long in Bollywood. Singh also said that they keep in touch with each other on a regular basis, no matter how busy their schedules are. It proved to be true when Singh recently recorded a video asking Kapoor to come back home, while the latter was busy shooting for a reality show in Argentina. In the uploaded video, Singh is seen with Ayushman Khurana and they are singing an old Hindi song from Shah Rukh Khan's superhit film, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.

In response, Kapoor not only recorded and uploaded a song from Border movie but according to Times of India, he actually dropped in Mumbai to meet Singh. Check out Kapoor's uploaded video here.

Singh is currently in Toronto to celebrate Valentine's Day with his rumored girlfriend Deepika Padukone who is shooting XXX 3 with Vin Diesel. After returning home, Singh will start shooting for Aditya Chopra's Befikre.
