Adele, who has broken records for the past few months ever since releasing her first single in years, "Hello," followed by her widely awaited third studio album, 25, went on stage during last Monday's Grammy Awards 2016 and gave a lackluster performance. After fans wondered what had happened, the singer took to Twitter to explain why her "All I Ask" was so far from her best.

The singer took to the social network to share the cause of her woes last Monday night, when a myriad of technical difficulties plagued her. What happened, then? Among other things, a microphone fell into the piano and right into a string, resulting in a sound resembling an acoustic guitar.

As Los Angeles Times explains, the multi-platinum singer, whose megahit album 25 wasn't eligible for this year's awards, proved the world she was actually human.

While Adele is often applauded for her powerful vocals and charismatic frankness to the media, eventually she was bound to suffer problems onstage, from the sound problems and mic failures to a "pitchy" performance, as she notoriously missed a few key notes during her song.

Still, everything is forgiven, as the British superstar still has one of the most widely expected tours in the past few years ahead of her, and has been continuously breaking records for the past months with her grand return to the stage, following what seemed like the longest absence.

The question will always remain, however. Why didn't she choose to start over when the performance went awry?

Billboard reports that Adele seems to have taken the incident harshly, as she was apparently absent from every after party on the big night and never showed up.

The singer was expected at the Sony Music bash following the awards show, but she had something else in mind: getting some comfort food at In 'N Out Burger following her bad night on stage.
