Zendaya's Dad Says Singer & Odell Beckham Jr. Are 'Just Friends'

Are Zendaya and Odell Beckham Jr. dating? Not according to Zendaya's dad, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman. He  cleared the rumors up, saying his daughter and the New York Giants wide receiver are "just friends" for now.

In the video clip below, the cameraman asked Coleman if he was cool with his daughter dating the football star, and that's when the father shut the rumors down!

Coleman replied: "What relationship? There's no relationship. We're just friends," Zendaya's dad said before getting in the SUV with Beckham and his daughter.

Coleman claimed that he was chaperoning his daughter and Beckham, and added: "When you see my daughter out on a date without me, it's a relationship." He continued, "It's like an audition. It's an interview."

Dating rumors hit the Internet after the two were spotted attending the Universal Music Group's Grammys afterparty on Monday night in Los Angeles.

Beckham is the first guy Zendaya has been seen in public with.

The singer and actress had previously said she was too busy to find romance. "You've got to realize my schedule is kind of nuts. I don't have time to go out and get to know somebody. If I didn't know you from the last three or four years of my life, it's probably too late," the former Disney star said in an interview with Complex.

Maybe her protective dad came along for the date because he and his family are New York Jets fans!
