Way back in the year 1998, gorgeous actress Madhuri Dixit and powerhouse of talent Nana Patekar had starred together in a film called Wajood, which did not work out well at the box office, despite the power packed performances and the thrill and drama the movie had to offer. Now from the current reports it looks like, the duo will share the screen after 17 years.

While the duo was also seen sharing screen time for serious movies like Mohre, Parinda and Prahaar, along with the dud Wajood previously; it is now possible that after a gap of almost two decades, they will be seen as the lead pair in an official remake of the Malayalam movie Salt N' Pepper.

According to reports in Mid-Day, the news is rife that both the actors have been approached to play the lead roles in the remake of the 2011 rom-com, which centers on food.

The Malayalam movie starred Lal and Shweta Menon as the protagonists, who share a common interest - cooking and food. The unusual love story narrates the tale of two couples, where food forms an integral part of the entire story.

Maya, played by Menon, a woman learning the ropes of cooking, accidentally dials a number to order dosa from a restaurant. She gets connected to Kalidasan instead, a character played by Lal. Kalidasan, a born gourmet and Maya a newbie, initially detest talking to each other, but eventually start to connect over food more often. Aromantic bond develops between them. This is how the story progresses further that forms the crux of the movie.

According to PinkVilla, Patekar has agreed to play Lal's character and Dixit is still in talks with the production house. In her recent Q&A's with her fans over Twitter, Dixit, however, said that she is reviewing few new scripts and will update her fans and media soon.

It is yet to be seen how both the talented actors, play the older couple bonding over food in the remake if Dixit signs the dotted line for the Hindi version.
