Monty Williams had to do one of the hardest things of his life on Thursday -- the Oklahoma City Thunder assistant coach had to say his final goodbyes to his wife, Ingrid Williams.

In a heartfelt speech, Williams admitted that it has been a "pretty tough time" for him and his family.

"I'm thankful for all the people who showed up today," the NBA coach said to his supporters who were at the service. "It's a pretty tough time, not just for me but for all of you as well. I'm mindful of that."

Williams continued, "This is hard for my family, but this will work out. And my wife would punch me if I were to sit up here and whine about what is going on. That doesn't take away the pain, but it will work out because God causes all things to work out. You just can't quit; you can't give in."

MStars News previously reported that Mrs. Williams, 44, died on Feb. 10 after being involved in a car accident that week. Her car was hit head-on by another vehicle. Williams was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries. Three of Williams' children were also in the car when the accident occurred. They too were treated at the hospital.

The other driver was Susannah Donaldson, who died at the crash site. Williams told the congregation to also pray for the Donaldson family.

"Let us not forget that there were two people in this situation, and that family needs prayer as well," the former New Orleans Pelicans coach said. "And we have no ill will toward that family. That family didn't wake up wanting to hurt my wife. Life is hard -- it is very hard -- and that was tough. But we hold no ill will toward the Donaldson family."
