'Daredevil' Season 2 Elodie Yung Joins Ryan Reynolds' Action Flick 'Hitman's Bodyguard'

It may still be a few more weeks before Netflix introduces Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios in Season 2  of Daredevil, but the French actress will be joining two different Marvel heroes in a new action flick. Yung has just been cast alongside Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds and Avengers: Age of Ultron's Samuel L. Jackson in Hitman's Bodyguard!

According to Deadline, Yung, together with Salma Hayek, have been added to the already stellar cast of Jeff Wadlow's new action film. In addition to Reynolds and Jackson, Hitman's Bodyguard will also star Harry Potter and the Prisoner from Azkaban actor Gary Oldman as a villainous Eastern European dictator.

The film will follow the best bodyguard in the world (Reynolds) who ends up getting Jackson's hit man as his new client. Together, they must escape Oldman's dictator and make it to the Hague.

There is no word yet on the roles for Yung and Hayek, but there is a possibility that Yung will portray a femme fatale similar to her Daredevil character. Yung had previously spoken about Elektra, saying that the female vigilante is not necessarily a villain.

"We wanted to create a character with different layers, and I think Elektra isn't a bad person, she's not a good person. She's a person with different traits, with layers and she's seeking for who she is," she explained during the recent Television Critics Association winter press tour (via Comicbook.com). "In this season, there's an arc to her story and hopefully, she will find out who she is really by the end of it."

Hitman's Bodyguard will be Reynolds' first film after the wildly successful Deadpool, which remained on top of the domestic box office for the second week in a row.

Hitman's Bodyguard is expected to start production by April 2, and will be shot in London, Amsterdam and Sofia. Daredevil Season 2 will air on Netflix on March 18.
