Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha to Work Together in 'Namaste England'? [WATCH]

Bollywood action star Akshay Kumar, who was last seen with Sonakshi Sinha in Prabhu Deva's Rowdy Rathore, might be paired opposite her in the lead again, in Vipul Shah's production venture Namastey England. While the script is in place and Kumar has been signed onboard, Sinha is yet to give her nod.

According to reports on Catch News, Shah mentioned that the film had been in the pipeline since long but was not set rolling due to Kumar's date problems. Kumar, who is set to feature in the Rajinikanth starrer Robot 2, is busy with as many as eight films lined up for the coming two years.

Shah was also quoted as saying in the report that the film is not in succession to his Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Namastey London, but it will see Kumar as a character from Punjab, which would be the only similarity in the two movies, including their titles.

Initially set to go on floors in April, the filming has been pushed to August, when Kumar will be available to begin shooting, wrapping up his Robot 2. Shah, the producer, said that they are preparing to finish off shooting the film by December this year and release it early in the next year. The producer was quoted by Catch News as:

"We have locked the script for Namastey England and we plan to go on floors in August 2016. Akshay Kumar will essay the character of a guy from Punjab. We plan to wrap up the shoot for the film by December 2016."

As for the leading lady for the project, the makers are in talks with Sinha, who is already working with the banner in another action movie opposite John Abraham, titled Force 2. The movie is a sequel to the Abraham and Genelia D'Souza Deshmukh starrer Force.

According to Indian Express, Sinha, who is also working on AR Murugadoss' Akira, is busy with her grueling action sessions and has promised to present her different and action-packed avatar this year. It is yet to be seen whether the daughter of veteran actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha joins the cast of Namastey England eventually.
