Jessica Sanchez: 'Glee' Star Begins Filming For Season Finale, Speaks on Finn Rumors, Talks Visiting Philippines [NEWS UPDATE]

Jessica Sanchez recently spoke on her upcoming role on Glee (including the rumors that she'll play a love interest to Finn) and a possible June visit to the Philippines in an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The 17-year-old American Idol  standout says that she was offered the role on Glee (as a "legendary diva" from a rival school) rather suddenly.

"Ryan (Murphy, the show's co-creator) called and asked me to a meeting," said Sanchez . After the meeting Ryan called again and offered her the gig. "It happened so fast."

Sanchez immediately enrolled herself in acting lessons to prepare for the part.

"It's the first time I'm doing it," she explained.

"I can't wait [to shoot]," Jessica said. "I'm very excited. I can't wait to meet the cast."

When Philippine Daily Inquirer asked the "Tonight" singer about her possible role as a love interest for main character Finn, Sanchez was hesitant.

"Not sure [about that]. That's a big rumor."

Sanchez says she plans to make a third visit to her mother's home country of the Philippines in June. She is reportedly scheduled to hold a concert in Manila at that time.

"That is the plan but nothing is confirmed yet," Sanchez said. "It's not sure yet. But I do plan to be back."

Sanchez hopes to see Boracay, Palawan and her mother's home province of Bataan. She says the fans she sees on her visits to the country are "amazing."

"There was a little girl who had every single outfit that I wore in magazines. Like a little me. Her family makes replicas of my dresses. I love it."

Sanchez's first album Me, You & The Music comes out on April 30. She has already released her first single "Tonight (feat. Ne-Yo)." She is set to appear on the last two episodes of Glee this season.
