Lionsgate Home Entertainment brings the hilarious Don Verdean, to DVD and Blu-Ray. Before its official release date, check out Sam Rockwell (Iron Man 2), Amy Ryan (The Office) and Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords) in this behind-the-scenes clip.

According to the film synopsis, a comedy of biblical proportions, a self-proclaimed biblical archaeologist is hired by an ambitious small-town pastor. The archaeologist must find sacred relics in the Holy Land. Unfortunately, the adventure turns sour when he comes up short. His attempt to cover up his epic failure fuels a comic conspiracy.

In an interview with Star Pulse, director Jared Hess discusses working with his cast, "Generally speaking I don't do a lot of improv, but like you said when you work with guys like Jemaine and Sam, Danny and Will inevitably really funny things are gonna come up on the set that are way funnier than what you had scripted. There's a moment in the film that was just supposed to be a cutaway of Danny talking with some church elders after the press conference and he ended up talking about dinosaur bones and comparing them to the 80's cartoon "Voltron." And it was so friggin' funny and unscripted - that was all Danny being hilarious."

The Blu-Ray and DVD special features include "Digging In: Behind the Scenes of Don Verdean" Featurette," "Behind the Sounds" Featurette, and audio Commentary with director Jared Hess.

In an interview with Nerd Report, Hess compares Don Verdean to Napoleon Dynamite, "Yeah, we shot this film in 25 days which is pretty quick. I shot Napoleon in 23 days I think so it was just two days more than that. It was a tight indie schedule but so much fun, having creative control. I live in Utah. We shot all the film in Utah basically. We did shoot some pieces in Israel but it's fun and creatively liberating to shoot under those circumstances."

Don Verdean arrives on DVD, Blu-Ray, Digital HD on Tuesday, March 1.
