Before Mr. Robot Season 2 returns to USA Network, the first season is now out on DVD and Blu-Ray. Before the upcoming sophomore season, Mr Robot (Christian Slater) and Elliot (Rami Malek) tease their summer premiere in an all-new promo.

As we previously mentioned, during the first season, Elliot (Malek) finds himself in hacker territory against Evil Corp with "fsociety." With a mysterious man linked to his past, Elliot finds himself siding with Mr. Robot (Christian Slater). As Evil Corp sinks its seductive claws on Elliot's best friend, Angela (Portia Doubleday), Fsociety has a way of hurting E Corp but in order to put their plans into motion, Elliot has to become more than just a cyber-vigilante. Struggling with his own paranoia and delusions, Elliot wants to know what the connection is between him, Mr. Robot, and Darlene (Carly Chaikin). But will the truth bring about the digital revolution that FSociety has been asking for?

Released on the official Mr. Robot Facebook page, aired during the Colony episode Broussard as well, the online promo features footage of Elliot's narration and scenes with Darlene. The caption states, "We try to make a difference, but the world has no patience for us."

In a special New York Times piece, creator/showrunner Sam Esmail discusses diversity, "I wonder what I'm going to do when I write my personal films, because I can't cast an Egyptian-American; that would be weird. In film school, there was this need to talk about your ethnicity and to make essentially social-message films. But I resisted, because I felt that it changed the conversation of what the movie was about."

Esmail adds, "[In auditions], it was mostly white guys. I opened up the process, and Rami [Malek] was just brilliant. He looks different, whether that's because he is Egyptian [or] just Rami. The conversation with the network was tough; I don't think it had to do with race - or I'd like to think it didn't. The show is already unusual. The barrier to entry for a show - from a network's point of view - is, can the audience identify with this person, and is race going to be a roadblock?"

Season 2 of Mr. Robot will return to USA Network.

Readers, are you excited to see Mr. Robot's summer return?
