Sushant Singh Rajput to Play Rockstar in Homi Adajania's Next Film?

Kai Po Che star Sushant Singh Rajput is all set to play a rockstar in Homi Adajania's next film.

Rock music might not find many takers in India, but movies on rock stars' lives have a huge market in the Indian subcontinent, the proof of which are Rock On!! and Rockstar.

Abhishek Kapoor directed Rock On!! starring Farhan Akhtar, depicted the story of four friends, who drift apart when they fail to achieve their dream of bringing together a rock band. Later, they reunite burying their sad past and strike gold as rockstars. Arjun Rampal had received the National Award for best actor in a supporting role for the film.

On the other hand, Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the title role, told the tale of a Delhi guy, who after failing in love finds his true calling in singing. He later goes on to become one of the most sought after rock artists on the scene. The film was appreciated for its different theme and Kapoor's performance.

Now, the PK star, who has his hands full with three releases this year, is ready to bring to life another rockstar's character. According to a report published in DNA India, Rajput will start shooting for the movie later in the year, after he finishes with all his prior commitments.

According to Times of India, in 2016, Rajput's Raabta and a biopic on Indian cricket captain M. S. Dhoni - Dhoni: The Untold Story - is slated to release. He is also said to settle down in holy matrimony with his longtime girlfriend and live-in partner Ankita Lokhande later in the year.

As per the reports, Rajput will be given a different look for his role of a rockstar. Adajania, who directed the refreshing Cocktail and his last release Finding Fanny, will direct Rajput in an out-and-out romantic role in the yet to be titled film.
