2017 'Suicide Squad' 2 Movie: Jared Leto/Joker, Margot Robbie/Harley Quinn Return For Sequel?

Warner Bros. aired the premiere of an all-new trailer of the super-villain team, Suicide Squad. With plans for a Task Force X sequel, will Jared Leto (The Joker) and Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) reprise their roles when production starts filming in 2017?

As we previously mentioned, when the government has a mission too hot for the superheroes to handle, they send in the bad guys to take care of the business. In a plot reminiscent of The Dirty Dozen, if the Suicide Squad - which includes the captured band of super-villains Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and Captain Boomerang - survives their deadly mission, their prison sentence will then be reduced.

The lineup also includes Will Smith (Deadshot), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) in writer/director David Ayer (End of Watch)'s upcoming comic book movie made up of DC Universe's notorious and deadliest villains.

According to The Wrap, the Concussion actor and the Training Day screenwriter will be re-teaming for another movie together. Written by Max Landis (Chronicle), the the star and director are attached to the cop thriller, Bright, which also happens to have fantasy elements. As the Sabotage director hopes it the project into his fall schedule, Smith has just started filming Collateral Beauty for Warners' New Line label.

Variety states, "It's unknown when the film would get underway but the hope is to get production rolling this year in order to get both Ayer and Smith ready for a "Suicide Squad" sequel shoot by 2017."

Because this is only speculation and the movie hasn't even come out yet, the sequel depends on the box office earnings. Depending how well it does at the box office, this is how audiences will definitely know if Suicide Squad actually gets a sequel.
