NBC aired the highly anticipated midseason premiere of Blindspot. In an all-new episode, are FBI agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and the mysterious Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) in deep trouble with Chief Inspector Jonas Fisher (John Hodgman)?

During the winter finale, after water-boarding Jane, CIA deputy director Thomas Carter (Michael Gaston) met his own demise as he was shot down by an assassin. Recognizing the face of Carter's assassin, Jane watched a recording she made herself, explaining she has orchestrated everything. What will change between Jane and Kurt, especially since they shared a kiss before she suddenly disappeared?

In our recent recap, though Oscar set her free, Jane has doubts about him and the playbook they're supposedly working together on. As the team worked on anew case from Jane's tattoos, Patterson found herself under investigation by chief inspector Jonas Fisher (John Hodgman). As Kurt waited alone in the streets, Jane met with Oscar instead. Though she is Taylor Shaw, Jane has to accomplish small and big tasks to find out the truth; terms she made herself.

In an interview with TV Line, creator/showrunner Martin Gero teases the return of Jonas Fisher, "He's not done with Mayfair yet. Mayfair and her past are something that we're taking a look at all season. They all have so many secrets, and Jonas is just looking for any sort of wedge to get in there."

If you were thinking the former Daily Show correspondent's appearance was a one time deal, you were sure wrong. In the aftermath of Fisher's visit, agent Patterson (Ashley Johnson) is "professionally secure" for the time being. Fischer will be back in the upcoming episode 13. This time Jonas has his eye on unseating Assistant Director Mayfair and taking her job for himself.
