Anyone who has seen the latest episode of The Walking Dead Season 6 would have noticed Morgan Jones hard at work building something. There have been speculations that Lennie James' character is trying to create a make-shift jail, and "Not Tomorrow Yet" director Greg Nicotero has just confirmed the rumors. In addition to that, he even explained why Morgan is building Alexandria's new prison cell!

Nicotero recently spoke to Yahoo!, where the TWD executive producer revealed what Morgan is up to in his house in Alexandria.

"Yes. He's building a cell," Nicotero confirmed before explaining why it is necessary for the character to go through all the trouble.

"The jail cell that they had wasn't necessarily much of a jail cell," he said. "It was like a little room with a little metal gate."

This might actually be a good idea, since their so-called "jail cell" was not able to prevent Jesus (Tom Payne) from interrupting Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne's (Danai Gurira) post-hookup nap. Nevertheless, it looks like Alexandria's resident zen master is determined to keep trying to "rehabilitate" the bad guys.

"I think Morgan is committed to the next time they have somebody in there, if they need to, they'll attempt to rehabilitate them," Nicotero said. "He wants to be equipped. It goes back to his story with Eastman."

But what could be too spoiler-y about Morgan working on the jail cell? The scene hints on the possibility that the cell will one day be used to house Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). In the comic books, Rick actually decides to imprison the villain instead of killing him since he thought it would be "inhumane." Although it sounds like a completely different take from the "shoot now, ask questions later" attitude of the TV show Rick, Morgan's code might eventually rub off on him in future episodes.

Will Negan get captured by Rick and the Alexandrians? Keep tuning in to The Walking Dead Season 6, which airs on AMC every Sunday nights.
