The battle of the boy bands just got a bit more heated. It's no secret that One Direction and The Wanted view each other as rivals, but the animosity between the two groups has finally bubbled to the surface. First, Louis Tomlinson of 1D made a few "disparaging" remarks about the Wanted. Then, Tom Parker of the Wanted fired back on Twitter. It erupted into a full-scale Twitter war, with the pair licking digital shots at each other throughout Sunday night. Check it out below:

The comment that started it all. Tomlinson brought up The Wanted at a recent show, inspiring a chorus of boos from the audience.

Tom told Lou to keep his name out his mouth, shooting back with "@Louis_Tomlinson you even talk about us at your own gigs. Are you that upset you didn't get in this band?"

Louis responded with "Pal, we both know I wouldn't waste my time auditioning for your band. You humour me with your bad boy persona."

That's when the whole thing blew up. Check out the images below via Perez Hilton:

Yep, tom just hinted that Louis was gay. Narnia being a wardrobe/closet joke and It GetsBetter is a campaign supporting bullied gay teenagers. And now Max has joined the convo.

Liam Payne jumped in.

Even the bandmates respective girlfriends hopped into the fray.

Then Jay McGuinness of The Wanted dropped some serious truthbombs before dropping the mic:

Dear @Louis_Tomlinson, please stop mentioning us in your gigs, we certainly no longer mention you and it's time to let dead dogs lie. Your passive-aggressive style of speaking makes me cringe, and I wish you'd either have the bollocks of some of your co-workers to speak truthfully, or the class of the majority of them to be silent. I'm not sure what's happened since we saw you at the XFactor, but you've done a sterling job of becoming one of the most overrated, arrogant and not to mention insincere people around. Your shocking lack of talent will only be forgiven by lots of humility and no-strings-attached friendship among your band. Louis, don't measure your worth in followers or money, because they're fickle, and when they go you might just feel worthless.

Max of the Wanted came up with an awesome solution that fans and non-fans alike would probably enjoy.
