DreamWorks Animation is all set to bring How to Train Your Dragon 3. The upcoming animated movie is likely to start from where the 2014s How to Train Your Dragon 2 ended and it will reveal the existence of dragons.

In December 2010, DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg confirmed that there would be a third film in the series. Katzenberg was quoted by Empire as: "How To Train Your Dragon is, at least, three: maybe more, but we know there are at least three chapters to that story."

How to Train Your Dragon franchise follows the adventures of a young Viking, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, who is a son of Stoick the Vast, the leader of the Viking island of Berk. Hiccups' life takes a turn when he finds a rare dragon -- Night Fury -- and makes him his closest companion. Together with his friends, Hiccup tries the village's allied dragon population in a defense of his home as leader of a flying corps of dragon rides.

According to Collider, the director of the trilogy, Dean DeBlois, described How to Train Your Dragon franchise as, "Hiccups' coming of age," that takes place in a span of five years between the first and second film. While, the third part will reveal the facts behind the disappearance of dragons.

Not only this, Academy Award winning actress Cate Blanchett, who gave voice to Stoick's wife -- Valka -- dropped hints about the upcoming film in the animated franchise. According to Variety, Blanchett relayed the surprise when she was approached for the part and she also revealed what Valka will bring to the story. When trilogy's director DeBlois approached her for the role of Valka, she felt very thrilled. DeBlois described Valka's character as a Jane Goodall-type who had spent her entire life with dragons.

"I am really excited. I don't know what it's going to be, but Dean has such an extraordinary imagination. And he directed in such a detailed, engaged way -- he holds a firm grip on the universe."
