Fox continues with Wrath of the Villains in Season 2 of Gotham. In an exclusive interview with MStars News, actor David Mazouz and actress Camren Bicondova talk about playing young Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle in the Batman prequel and adapting the DC Comics icons from the popular comic books and animated series.

In our previous recaps, Rise of the Villains concluded with detectives Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) rescuing Bruce (Mazouz) from the clutches of Theo Galavan (James Frain) and the Order of St. Dumas. Bruce finally found a name that could lead him to his parents killer. Wrath of the Villains began with Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) being incarcerated at Arkham Asylum, meeting Dr. Hugo Strange (BD Wong). Elsewhere, Victor Fries (Nathan Darrow) finds himself racing against the clock, working on his experiments to save his dying wife.

Before an all-new episode, The Ball of Mud and Meanness, airs Monday at 8pm on Fox, the Gotham cast members dish on playing the younger versions of the Dark Knight and Catwoman as Bruce's manhunt for his parent's mysterious killer takes an unexpected twist.

MStars News: What are Bruce and Selina's mindset like now that Theo Galavan has been defeated?

David Mazouz: When you see him next, Bruce is on a mission. He's on a journey to rebuild Gotham and really find out who killed his parents. A couple episodes ago, he got a clue about who his parents are and he's going to be investigating the heck out of that clue. So you're going to see his detective side really come out.

Camren Bicondova: She is doing her own thing. She is kind of freelancing in this episode [the mid-season premiere], and she even drops on a little interaction, that is kind of curious. But she kind of likes to eavesdrop.

In our recent recap, Jim's plan of using Victor's dying wife as bait backfired on him when Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) was taken hostage. After his cure failed to save Nora, Victor committed suicide and froze himself to death. While Leslie and Jim's relationship is on the rocks, Mr. Freeze rises from the dead in Indian Hill as Dr. Strange's latest experiment. Elsewhere, Bruce continues his vengeful search for Matches Malone. Bruce promises that he will let Alfred pull the trigger, but he has other plans, which involve getting a gun from Selina.

MS: Tell me about Bruce's relationship with Alfred.

DM: The thing about Alfred is that their relationship is so dynamic, that it's ever-changing. In the very beginning of the show, Alfred was very much a butler. He was very much the help. He wasn't a father. He didn't have a close connection with Bruce. His parents were always the buffer and now they're gone. So it was a awkward relationship at first but slowly, they developed that kind of father/son relationship. And that's where we are now.

So coming back into the episodes, in the returns, you're going to see Bruce and Alfred. You're going to see their relationship change immensely. It's going to be two men discussing and arguing, doing things together. It's not going to be a father and son. They're going to be equals and it's really really great showing that evolution. Because we all know eventually Alfred is going to be the medical kind of guy and the guy who's going to be there for Bruce when he gets hurt. And it's really interesting to see how that grows!

MS: Where does Selina stand with Bruce at this point?

CB: Well, in the second half of the season, you'll see their relationship grow. Because Selina actually helps out Bruce in a very big way. And in my opinion, it kind of foreshadows what Bruce becomes. And I think its really cool, because it shows that Selina actually has some part in Bruce becoming Batman! So I am really excited!

MS: Are things still tense with Selina and Gordon?

CB: It's a little complicated, ever since Jim promised her that he would save her friend and that really didn't go that way. Selina has definitely lost respect for him, but she uses him when she needs him. He is like a little toy to her.

MS; You're also in the horror movie with Kevin Bacon in The Darkness. Tell me about these two colliding right now. How does it feel to have the show and the movie coming out?

DM: Yeah it's great! It's like you said, they're both colliding! They're both returning at the same time. And there's so much hype about both of them and it's really really fun! I'm so excited for The Darkness to come out! I'm excited to see everyone again! I haven't seen them in awhile! I can't wait to see the new episodes! I just can't wait to see the things that we shot and how they turned out.
