Even when you've been in show business for decades and are one of the most beloved comedians in Hollywood, things are bound to get awkward when meeting one of your favorite stars -- and that's something John Goodman learned the hard way! In a recent interview with Howard Stern, the 13-time Saturday Night Live host talked about the one time he tried to talk to Kristen Wiig and she totally snubbed him.

Goodman, currently promoting 10 Cloverfield Lane, appeared on The Howard Stern Show last week to talk about his new project and how he behaved with Hollywood A-Listers after decades in the business. During the interview, the Flintstones actor said he was a big fan of Wiig's work, so he came up to her at a party -- to super-awkward results.

"She was talking to somebody else, and I was just - I think she's so great, and the social barriers broke down and I interrupted the conversation," said Goodman. "And I would just hate for somebody to do that to me. And she goes, 'yeah, I'll talk to you in a minute.' It was like the Atom. I shrunk down to Atom size. I really like her, and it was embarrassing, so I'll never speak to her again."

Even though Goodman has been around Tinsel Town for over 30 years and has a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award to his name, People Magazine reports the actor still doesn't quite fit into the Hollywood crowd. In the same interview, Goodman revealed he's not altogether that comfortable with hanging out with the biggest names in Hollywood, even though he's tried.

The actor discussed that, when he was shooting The Monuments Men, he found it hard to bond with the likes of George Clooney and Matt Damon, two of the biggest stars in the world, because he didn't "bring a lot to that party."

Seriously, someone should remind Mr. Goodman that he's brilliant and he's shaped some of the best film and television projects in the past three decades.
