AMC continues with the mid-Season 6 of The Walking Dead. Twitter had lots to say about Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride)'s shocking twist as they went up against Paula (Alicia Witt) and her crew.

In our previous recap, Carol has been romancing her new neighbor, Tobin, even sharing a kiss with him. But the fight came first as Rick and the others went off to ambush Negan's satellite watchtower. During the raid, as the alarms sounded off, Carol tried to keep Maggie from entering from compound. Unfortunately, because they let their guard down, Negan's army now had them as their prisoners.

In our recent recap, Maggie didn't know if Carol hyperventilating was real or part of her mind game against Paula. What Carol did learn is that she is jut like Paula but without a conscience. What was Carol afraid of the entire time? Carol was afraid of killing Paula as she let the female Savior become eaten alive by a walker. As Maggie told Glenn (Steven Yuen) she can't continue on missions anymore, Carol told Daryl (Norman Reedus) that she's not okay.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, McBride describes Carol's mindset, "Carol is a conscientious person and she does carry all this with her. To reflect on what Morgan is saying and her point of view, it makes what Carol said to Sam - "The only way you can keep from becoming a monster is to kill" - she feels like a monster. For Carol, if she doesn't like the feeling, she will put a mask on to avoid feeling that way. At this point, yes, this is all about accountability and saving herself from becoming the bad guy. I love that scene with Maggie when the Savior says, "You're not a good guy." That was so heavy duty. It's like, "How did this happen?"

Check out what Twitter had to say:

@simp1y_grace tweets, "Carol already offered herself in place of Maggie's baby. I see it happening with Negan. I see Daryl between her and Negan. #TheWalkingDead"

@TWDflyingwalker adds, "#TheWalkingDead kicked ass. Mag'swas amazing, much stronger than she thinks. Carol showed the humanistic side of herself that has been lost."

@HelloA$$Butt states, "My God walking dead was amazeballs, carol is such a f*cking bad ass. maggie is such a ass kicker. good lord. #thewalkingdead"

@gybiscuit86 argues, "I'm still processing all the emotions from #TheWalkingDead last night. Carol continues to be the best written female character on TV."

@PerezHilton writes, "The women of #TheWalkingDead slayed in last night's kick-ass lady-centric episode!"

@hirekakrus mentions, "I get it now. Carol is ruthless when it's for the sake of others. So thou shall not f*ck with her squad. Ever. #TheWalkingDead"

The Walking Dead continues Sundays at 10pm on AMC.
