Michael J. Fox has been absent from a full-time television role since he exited his hit show "Spin City" in 2001, but it looks like the Back to the Future star is coming back with a new NBC sitcom this fall. Fox, who is now 51 years old, admits that he misses acting and is ready to return to network television. The show will reportedly focus on Parkinson's disease, which Fox was diagnosed with in 1991 but did not tell the public until 1999. His condition has spurred the formation of the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which helps fund research into Parkinson's disease.

In an interview with Access Hollywood the former "Spin City" star said:

"It's based loosely on my experiences. And I don't want to say too much because I don't want my kids to think every time a kid does something goofy on the show that it's a reflection on them."

Fox said it would be pretty impossible to star in a show without addressing his personal struggles with Parkinson's disease. He said:

"Well, I don't have a choice... But my personal life - you can sit and project out and say, 'Oh, I'm going to have this and it's going to be like this and I won't be able to do that.' But it's much more about right now. 'What can I do right now?' Right? I just thought, I love to do this and as much as anyone will let me do it and give me their time to do it - I should do it. And so, I'm doing it."

Michael is teaming up with the New York City's famous Magnolia Bakery this month to raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Magnolia Bakery has created a special cupcake in celebration of Parkinson's Awareness Month.
