'The Legend of Korra' Spin-Off Movie, Fans Want Dylan O'Brien to Star as Bolin?

In 2012, Nickelodeon's acclaimed TV series The Legend of Korra came to an end but the finale of the show gave hope to all the fans that there might be a possibility of a spin-off movie. An official sequel to the original The Legend of Korra is not in the minds of the creators, but fans from around the world are hoping that they might get to see the show on 70mm. Not only this, fans are expecting to have Dylan O'Brien to star in the movie as Bolin.

The finale episode of The Legend of Korra hinted a possible relationship between Korra and Asami which made the fans start to speculate that the show creators will take the story on the bigger screen. Not only this, Paramount Pictures and Netflix had earlier announced a follow-up to the movie.

In 2010, the first part of the Korra trilogy, Avatar: The Last Airbender, got a silver screen adaptation. However, the film failed to make an impact as the film targeted an audience below the age of 10 and it somehow did not impress the mature audience and the critics. However, there are reports that Avatar: The Last Airbender will get a possible sequel. Movie News Guide earlier reported that The Last Airbender writer and director M. Night Shyamalm has confirmed that The Legend of Korra is in the production stage, and this time he is not going to repeat the same mistakes.

In August 2012, Variety reported that Paramount Animations has started development of several animated movies with a budget of around $100 million, and there was a chance that The Legend of Korra would be among those movies. But after the fallout with the show's creators, Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, it looks like the possible film is going to stay in the pipeline only. The duo told Hypable that their plate is full as they are working on multiple seasons and an adaptation is unlikely.

In 2015, VC Post reported that the fans of the animated series were submitting a petition through Change.org to make the producers work on a possible spin-off movie through Netflix.

These speculations have started making fans assume the possible star cast for the film. According to Movie Plot, O'Brien, who amazed the fans by his fantastic performance in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, is being considered for the role of Bolin. On the other hand, fans of Korra wants 19-year-old Zendaya Coleman to play the title role.

Now in the latest news, an article from Forbes suggests that since Netflix is trying to adapt successful animated series into feature films, The Legend of Korra should be their first choice based on its huge fan following.

Nothing is confirmed for now but it would be interesting to see the silver screen adaptation of the famous animated series.
