Adam Sandler has been making critically panned movies for years, yet he still manages to get studios to sign for his films, and find some success. Though last year's release Pixels was a disaster, his recent deal with Netflix has gone much better, and his first film with them, Ridiculous 6, apparently did very well. Now, the next movie from his deal, The Do-Over, gets a trailer and release date.

Last Monday, Netflix posted the first teaser for Sandler's follow-up film on his multiple-picture deal with the site. The new comedy, which will come to the small screen next May, stars Sandler, fellow Saturday Night Live alum David Spade, Paula Patton and Narcos actor Luis Guzman, in a large cast filled with stars.

"Two down-on-their-luck guys decide to fake their own deaths and start over with new identities, only to find the people they're pretending to be are in even deeper trouble," reads the short synopsis on the film's IMDb page.

It's been only a couple of months since Ridiculous 6 was released on Netflix, and the Happy Gilmore actor is already teasing his next film -- which is fairly impressive, even if one doesn't really abide to his style of comedy.

According to The Verge, this is the second of four planned movies Sandler is making with Netflix, and so far he's been quite successful. Months back, Netflix revealed Ridiculous 6 had broken the record of the most-streamed film in 30 days on the site, so people are definitely turning up to watch Sandler's latest, even though the film was critically panned with a Metascore of 18 and an abysmal 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix has been focusing more and more on original content in the past months, making deals with a number of the biggest stars and producers in Hollywood, including working with Brad Pitt on War Machine and recently bagging a deal to have Will Smith star in a Netflix-produced possible franchise.

In any case, Sandler's The Do-Over will premiere on the streaming site next May 27th.
