WGN America continues with the premiere their new original series, Outsiders. In episode 9, entitled Trust, Big Foster (David Morse) and Little Foster (Ryan Hurst) are trying to defend their mountaintop homestead before the outside world takes it away from them.

Asa (Joe Anderson) has returned back to the mountain with enough gun power to make Big Foster scared. Big Foster is willing to have Asa return, as long as he gets the guns. Even though Asa's banishment has been taken away, the Farrells' only doctor doesn't understand why he would even return. The doctor believes nothing could can come from Big Foster sitting in the king's throne.

Even after rejecting Big Foster's sexual advances, G'Winn Farrell (Gillian Alexy) does want one thing from him. G'Winn actually wants Big Foster to kill someone for her. Big Foster doesn't know if she's fooling with him, or if she's for real.

Hasil (Kyle Gallner) has been taken hostage by Sally-Anns brother and two other hicks. After Hasil takes a beating, Reese finally shows up and discovers the kidnapping. Knowing they could all go to jail, Reese has to make things right and call the corporation executive.

Because he doesn't have a home, nor a family, Hasil isn't interested in making a deal. The corporate executive is willing to offer Hasil a job and make enough money. Having a job and dollar bills will make Sally-Ann fall back into his arms. The only thing the corporate executive wants is Hasil's help convince the Farrells to leave the mountains.

Asa then heads out to meet Sally-Ann (Christina Jackson). He discovers Hasil is actually living with her and he even has a job. Knowing he has lost his cousin, Asa leaves their home. Everything that Hasil has ever wanted is now finally his.

Little Foster confronts Big Foster and points his shotgun at him. Big Foster doesn't even think Little Foster has the guts to pull the trigger; so why doesn't he kill himself. Calling Big Foster's bluff, Little Foster points the barrel at his chin and pulls the trigger. The shot backfires and burns Little Foster's hand.

Back at the house, Wade's sister finally finds his missing son, but no one can find his father. The boy didn't even realize he was sleepwalking again. As his sister starts to have doubts, Wade's deputy wonders as well if the sheriff actually did murder his wife.

Trapped in the caves, Sheriff Wade Houghton (Thomas J. Wright) hallucinates in his deep slumber. Wade has a surreal dream of his parents, especially his father who's still alive. No one knows where he is and Wade is quickly losing air.

During the night, Asa meets with the doctor and the rest of the Farrells. Asa joins the Doctor and the rest of the clan who want to strip Big Foster from the crown.
