The final episode of Daredevil Season 2 was filled with several major events, from the unexpected cameo from Jessica Jones' Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Ann Moss) to Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle officially taking on the Punisher mantle. But one of the most memorable moment in the season finale were the unfortunate death of Elodie Yung's Elektra Natchios and The Hand's theft of her body.

So what will happen to Elektra, Matt and Karen? Daredevil showrunners Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, where they offered some hints on Elektra's fate.

"We know that Elektra is the Black Sky, and we know that the Black Sky is a very powerful tool for the Hand," Petrie teased before hinting on the possibility that we haven't seen the last of Elektra.

"We know that the Hand is up to no damn good," he said. "The clues can be found in the canon and in the comics, but we do hope that our viewers feel that we're not done telling this story just yet."

In an interview with THR, Elodie adds hown she researched into the comics to make her character come alive,  "I definitely added layers. This is not the story of Elektra from the comics. We're telling the story of Daredevil. In this aspect, the storylines accentuate the sociopathic tendencies in her. The writers wanted to highlight that Elektra is quite manipulative and doesn't seem to have a conscience. But what will change about her is that yes, we're telling Matt's story and Elektra returning to his life has an impact on his actions, but Matthew will have an impact as well on Elektra. She'll start to question her own actions and she'll change."

There is still a big possibility that Elektra could be resurrected in the third season.

Daredevil Season 2 is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
