Theon Greyjoy, the Game of Thrones character that has been played by Alfie Allen since the HBO series began, has had it rougher than most in Westeros after his fate was put in Ramsay Bolton's hands. By the end of last season, Theon had escaped with Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) towards a better life -- but is his death approaching in season 6?

In a very rare bit of candidness from a GoT cast member, Allen seems to have revealed that his character sacrifices himself for Sansa after taking her away from Winterfell to protect her.

"He sacrifices himself, because I guess he hasn't really got much worth or meaning for himself in the world anymore," Allen said, according to Newsx. "And so he leads them away -- or rather that's what he's trying to do."

"Them" probably refers to the people working for Ramsay, undoubtedly trying to fetch his wife and servant back.

Aside from dropping that bombshell, the actor recently released a statement revealing how things happen for his character and Turner's at the beginning of the show.

Saying it was an "incredible" experience to shoot the scenes where Theon and Sansa run away from Ramsay, as Bambridge Studios had "blanketed [the] whole area with fake snow," and it seems the two actors also shot some scenes in a river. On this scene, Sansa's too scared to swim inside the river and Theon has to get in before her. There's also a scene with Gwendoline Christie's Brienne of Tarth and Dan Portman's Poderick, he says.

So, apparently Brienne does finally see Sansa, though it's unclear if they can reach a safe location.

Now, while this is interesting information, all further reports of Allen's spoiler-filled statement comes from the same outlet, which names no interviewer, so it looks mildly suspicious considering how tight-lipped the cast and crew of the show usually are about plot points. Nobody else from Game of Thrones has said anything about this altogether.

The Game of Thrones will return to HBO on April 24.
