Already renewed for a second season, The CW's superhero meet-up series Legends of Tomorrow is barely in the middle of its freshman one, but it's already gathering momentum and even adding a new character! Patrick J. Adams, best known for playing Mike Ross in USA Network's Suits, will be joining the cast of the DC Comics-based show, playing a mystery character that's well known to fans.

Entertainment Weekly has revealed that the season finale of Legends will have Adams playing a mysterious role from the DC Comics universe. The actor is set to appear on season finale "Legendary" and the first episode of Season 2, and after this two-episode stint, there's a possibility that he'll return for further storylines.

Adams is currently working as a regular in Suits and he's worked in the past on shows like Friday Night Live and Orphan Black, but obviously he still has the time to pop by and be a superhero for a couple of episodes, because why wouldn't he?

In any case, it's still unclear whom exactly Adams will be embodying, and there are only bits and pieces of information so far including that this is "fun character the fans will love" and, according to Screen Crush sources, this is "a beloved superhero from the DC canon" who somehow serves as "a launching point for season 2."

There's already word on who he won't be playing: time traveler Booster Gold. A while back, Phil Klemmer, the Legends of Tomorrow showrunner, said the character wasn't going to appear on the DC TV universe, which could mean plans for it to show up later in the movies -- though DC doesn't seem to have that big a problem with cross-referencing the two formats as Marvel does.

Adams' début in Legends of Tomorrow will be on the May 19 episode.
