It's been a year since Kit Harington's Westeros character, Jon Snow, bled to his apparent death on the Season 5 finale of Game of Thrones, and ever since, members of the cast and crew haven't stopped confirming time and again that the character is indeed dead. With the show's return just weeks away, HBO has made his part in George R. R. Martin's story: the Season 6 synopsis confirms the death.

In case you still hoped to see Ned Stark's bastard son in Season 6, HBO is more than prepared to tear all your dreams apart. According to TVLine, the subscription network and home to Westeros has just released a short and to-the-point synopsis of the show's next season.

"Jon Snow is dead," reads the synopsis, in case anyone was still wondering at this point.

Still, the description for the Season 6 premiere released to the press also includes statements that "Cersei sees her daughter again" (presumably her corpse, as Myrcella died of poisoning on the trip back home last season) and that "Daenerys meets a strong man" who could easily be the leader of the khalasar she ran into in last year's season finale.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the season premiere will be entitled "The Red Woman," obviously in reference to Melisandre (Carice van Houten), who was last seen going back to The Wall after Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) was defeated in battle. While there's an ongoing theory that she'll be the one who revives Jon Snow, HBO's being pretty clear about the fate of the character who knows nothing -- though certainly fans will continue to hope.

As a whole, HBO says Season 6 will see familiar characters "forge new alliances" and "new characters will emerge to challenge the balance of power" all over the world created by Martin.

Game of Thrones Season 6 will premiere on HBO on April 24.
