Days after reports that Warner Bros. is focusing more on its other franchises after the mixed response to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the studio's released the latest teaser trailer for Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. From a screenplay by author J.K. Rowling, the new footage shows Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander fighting off muggles -- in 20s America!

According to Cinema Blend, the new trailer for the wizarding world spinoff was revealed last Sunday, when star and Oscar winner Redmayne took to the stage of the MTV Movie Awards to show the latest footage from the upcoming blockbuster.

Although the new clip is being promoted as another teaser, it has a lot more footage than we'd previously seen, and the score and effects will take fans back to the world and feel from the eight wildly successful Harry Potter films.

In the new trailer, it's explained that Redmayne's character, Newt, was kicked out of Hogwarts for "endangering human life with a beast" even though he has the favor of schoolteacher Albus Dumbledore (he wasn't headmaster at that point). After these events, he reaches America with a suitcase full of magical creatures, but upon reaching customs, he's not detained or even noticed ... because it's muggle safe.

Still, he's gathered the hate of a few people along the way, notoriously that of Percival Graves (Colin Farrell), a man who certainly doesn't look too pleased to have him in America.

Ahead of the film's end-of-the-year release date, author Rowling has taken to Pottermore to write some background stories for the film, notoriously about the magical history of the United States and the wizarding schools around the world.

"Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures," reads the film's synopsis. "Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident...were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt's fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds."

David Yates, the man behind the last four Harry Potter adaptations, directed the film, which also stars Ezra Miller, Ron Perlman, Jon Voight, Samantha Morton and Katherine Waterson.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will hit theaters on November 18.
