Fans already know that the DC flick Suicide Squad will contain A LOT of dark humor, but is it really necessary to reshoot the film to add more comedy to avoid the same seriousness in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? That won't be necessary. Director David Ayer has decided to speak out about the rumors that his movie needs to be injected with more funny moments, and he thinks that it's "silly!"

The Suicide Squad helmer reacted to the rumors on his official Twitter account, basically repeating what Jai Courtney already stated in an interview last week: They're going to back to shooting more action scenes (and hopefully, more explosions).

Ayer also indicated that Warner Bros. doesn't have any problems with Suicide Squad and it looks like it was his decision to make sure Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith) and the rest of Task Force X engage in more action sequences (and again, EXPLOSIONS please).

Courtney had previously confirmed that the reshoots are not for comedy because, "There's plenty of that in there."

The Terminator Genysis star, who plays Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad, also added, "I wouldn't say that we're going back to make it funnier, there's been some additional action stuff that we've been doing, which is pretty dope."

If the new Blitz trailer is any indication, there are plenty of jokes and hilarious moments in Suicide Squad. The teaser showed that Harley is fully capable of stopping anyone in their tracks (admit it, you loved that scene) and Task Force X certainly knows how to kick back and relax despite being on a dangerous mission.

Suicide Squad also stars Jared Leto as The Joker, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag and Scott Eastwood as the one guy who is always in the trailers but whose identity has yet to be revealed. The film hits theaters on August 5.
