Suicide Squad certainly boasts of cast of colorful and wise-cracking characters, so it isn't hard to see why some fans are already hoping that Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn or Will Smith's Deadshot would star in their own standalone films. However, Smith says he's hoping that Floyd Lawton could temporarily don Ben Affleck's Batman cowl!

Smith recently attended the MTV Movie Awards 2016, where he spoke to Josh Horowitz about the possibility of giving his Suicide Squad character the chance to be Batman.

"There was one of the comics when Bruce Wayne got injured and I think Deadshot for a couple of them came in and he had to throw on the Batsuit," Smith said, referring to the character's first appearance in "The Man Who Replaced Batman."

But would he do the same for Affleck if needed?

"I'm just saying: if they're going to draw on that, I wouldn't reject it," Smith said, adding, "I'm a team player."

This might actually be true in the case of Deadshot. After all, the character may have grudgingly joined Task Force X but that doesn't mean he can't take one for the team. The TV version of Floyd (Michael Rowe) who appears in Arrow had famously sacrificed himself to save John Diggle (David Ramsey), Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson) and Carrie Cutter (Amy Gumenick) in the Season 3 episode "Suicidal Tendencies."

But would a Deadshot standalone film work? Warner Bros. has recently added two new DC Extended Universe movies to the current lineup and although the titles have not yet been confirmed, there are speculations that one of the films could be a Suicide Squad sequel or spinoff flick.

Suicide Squad also stars Jared Leto as The Joker and will hit theaters on August 5.

Would you like to see Deadshot replace Batman? Should there be a Deadshot standalone movie? Let us know inthe comments.
