Tribeca Film Festival 2016 Schedule, Lineup: Mr. Robot Season 2 & DEF CON Panels!

Before Mr. Robot Season 2 returns to USA Network, the first season is now out on DVD and Blu-Ray. There will be panels for the upcoming sophomore season, hosted by DEF CON, at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival schedule and lineup.

In our previous recaps, during the first season, Elliot (Malek) finds himself in hacker territory against Evil Corp with "fsociety." With a mysterious man linked to his past, Elliot finds himself siding with Mr. Robot (Christian Slater). As Evil Corp sinks its seductive claws on Elliot's best friend, Angela (Portia Doubleday), Fsociety has a way of hurting E Corp but in order to put their plans into motion, Elliot has to become more than just a cyber-vigilante. Struggling with his own paranoia and delusions, Elliot wants to know what the connection is between him, Mr. Robot, and Darlene (Carly Chaikin). But will the truth bring about the digital revolution that FSociety has been asking for?

According to the official USA Network website, the Festival Hub will be held at Spring Studios (6 St Johns Ln., NYC). Aspiring fsociety members can test their real-life hacking skills at the "Hacked by DEF CON and Mr. Robot" panels. The hands-on challenges include Lock-Picking Village, Hardware Hacking, Privacy and Bio Hacking and the Fsociety Recruitment Challenge.

From the official Tribeca website, on April 17th 1PM EST, in the Life in a Post Mr. Robot World panel, Rami Malek, Christian Slater and Carly Chaikin are scheduled for attendance. The panel will be moderated by DEF CON founder Jeff Moss aka The Dark Tangent. The cast will be there to discuss the show's portrayal of hacker culture.

No word yet on when Season 2 of Mr. Robot will premiere on USA Network. The Tribeca Film Festival takes place from April 15-17.
