The last season of Person of Interest is going to premiere on May 3, 2016, airing two episodes per week until the series finale on June 21, 2016. Before the release of the first episode of Season 5, CBS has released some hints about upcoming season. From the recent press releases, it looks like in the first episode, titled B.S.O.D., John Reese (played by Jim Caviezel) and Harold Finch (played by Michael Emerson) are going to try and bring back the machine back to life.

Person of Interest is a science fiction crime drama created by Jonathan Nolan. It follows the story of Reese, a presumed-dead ex-CIA agent who is hired by a mysterious billionaire Finch, to prevent violent crimes predicted by the Machine, a mass-surveillance computer system that relays the identity. At the end of Season 4, we got to see how the machine was destroyed by the Samaritan (another similar machine) and its followers.

Spoiler Alert:

In a recent press release, CBS stated that Reese and Finch are going to do everything they can to bring the machine back to life. On the other hand, Root (played by Amy Acker) will fight against the Samaritan and its protector, while Fusco (played by Kevin Chapman) will be interrogated by the NYPD.

"Reese and Finch attempt to rescue the Machine's source code before it deteriorates beyond repair. Also, Root fights for her life against an onslaught of Samaritan's agents and Fusco is faced with hard questions following the deaths of Dominic and Elias, on the fifth season premiere of PERSON OF INTEREST, Tuesday, May 3 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network," reads the press release via Spoiler TV.

In the world of computers and programming language, B.S.O.D. stands for Blue Screen of Death. In layman terms, it means an error screen displayed in a Windows computer system after a fatal system error or system crash and when the operating system reaches to that point when it can no longer operate safely. So, if we put it nicely then the first episode of season five is going to decide the faith of everyone.

Meanwhile, fans are still wondering about the possibility that Person of Interest might get pick by another network as CBS has already announced it's cancellation. Executive producer, Greg Plageman and Nolan said in an interview with that the story of Reese and Finch will get over with season five. Nolan told IGN in a statement:

"We can't wait for you to experience this thrilling and final chapter."
