With all of the controversy surrounding Brad Paisley and LL Cool J's "Accidental Racist" (in particular its questionable lyrics) it was almost a given that Saturday Night Live would have something to say on the matter. And they nailed it with this pitch-perfect spoof.

Choice quotes include:

BRAD PAISLEY: Country music is about stories. So, what I wanted to do is show folks the gritty, racial reality of a man at Starbucks talking to his barista.

LL COOL J: And I wanted to tell the story of a rapper who needs to get his name out here beause he has a new album about to drop.

LL COOL J: You're white.

BRAD PAISLEY: You're black.

LL COOL J: Don't follow me around this store.

BRAD PAISLEY: Don't talk during this movie.

LL COOL J: You see? Starting a conversation.

All of the asides where Brad and LL take credit for curing/ ending racism are gold. "Racism's over! Boom! You're welcome."

In real life, Brad and LL have continued to defend their effort.

"Last year, we had some really powerful movies deal with it really well," Paisley told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno show "We had Django [Unchained] and Lincoln, and the media deals with it all the time, and I thought maybe it would be an interesting conversation between country music and rap music to deal with this subject between two individuals in a loving and understanding way."

"Music is about, and art is about, connecting different people, and building bridges and breaking the rules,"LL Cool J told CNN. "If it's not compelling, and it's not complex and it's not interesting, then what are we doing it for? So I think that's the right move."

Other musicians and cultural critics are not convinced.

Questlove in particular has spoken out on Twitter about the song.

"Just heard the "Accidental Racist" man that Weird Al is amazing," The Roots drummer tweeted.

He later compared the lyrics of "Accidental Racist" to the controversial date-rape lyrics from Rick Ross on "U.O.E.N.O."

What do you think? Was the SNL spoof of "Accidental Racist" spot on? Do Brad Paisley and LL Cool J's lyrics deserve to be made fun of?
