HBO's award-winning comedy Veep comes back to the small screen this Sunday, with Julia Louis-Dreyfus returning to her role as President Selina Meyer for season 5. It turns out she's been involved in an actual political Secretary of State controversy. The multiple Emmy-winning actress revealed that she actually got caught up in Hillary Clinton's e-mail scandal!

Louis-Dreyfus was recently featured in the cover of The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the Veep season premiere, where she opened up about being a successful comedy actress in Hollywood. Among her stories, she revealed how she'd once gotten a note from then Secretary of State Clinton, where the politician professed love for the HBO show and said she hoped she got "everything you want as Veep --- gun control, immigration and education reform."

However, a couple of years later, the truth was revealed. Clinton hadn't actually even seen the show. How did she find out? It turns out that, among the leaked e-mails Clinton had sent, there was one directed to her then aide Robert V. Russo, asking him for ideas about what to send Julia "Lewis-Dreyfus."

"Let me brainstorm on this one/do some research," Russo replied to Clinton at the time, then going on to unveil another truth bomb. "I confess I haven't seen the show!"

When asked if she'd had a problem with the revelation that the note had been faked out, Louis-Dreyfus laughed the awkward incident off, saying it was "perfect, just perfect," because the whole situation was almost straight out of a Veep episode.

During the same interview, the Seinfeld alum also revealed the viral "Last F*ckable Day" sketch on Inside Amy Schumer didn't feel very comedic at the time she was making it. On it, fellow Hollywood middle-aged actresses Tina Fey and Patricia Arquette meet up to celebrate Louis-Dreyfus' last day as a "f*ckable" woman in the media, and the actress said the whole thing felt too "meta" but tried to be a good sport about it.

Veep will return to HBO this Sunday.
