It looks like the Starz series American Gods has officially started principal photography, and there is nobody more excited about it than Neil Gaiman himself. The Anansi Boys author has just shared a few photos from the set with Hannibal's Bryan Fuller and even teased about the first scene featuring Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday!

Gaiman couldn't contain his excitement as he shared a picture from the American Gods set on his official Twitter account. Although the image only featured a chair with the writer's name as well as a script for the show, Gaiman also added the caption, "Oh yes. It's happening. It's really happening."

The Neverwhere author also shared a photo showing Fuller with a few monitors, and although the image didn't show a clear shot of McShane, Gaiman teased that he took the picture to commemorate the Game of Thrones star's first appearance as one of American Gods' mysterious lead character.

"This is @BryanFuller about to watch Mr Wednesday say his first lines," Gaiman wrote, adding that although the showrunner is trying to hide his excitement.

"Bryan is being suave and cool. It's a façade," he concluded.

American Gods' other lead actor Ricky Whittle also shared a photo with Gaiman, Fuller, executive producer Michael Green and pilot director/producer David A. Slade in his own Twitter account. Whittle will play Shadow Moon in the series.

In addition to American Gods, Gaiman has recently announced that he will be working on a series based on Good Omens, the hilarious novel about the Apocalypse that he co-wrote with the late Terry Pratchett. Gaiman has decided to adapt the book into a six-part miniseries after he received a letter from his co-author allowing him to work on the adaptation on his own.
